Riyadh, February 20, 2025 – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed its deep solidarity with the State of Kuwait following the tragic loss of two Kuwaiti army personnel during a military exercise.
The incident occurred on Wednesday during a night shooting drill with live ammunition as part of a joint military exercise between Kuwait and the United States. Two additional soldiers sustained injuries during the exercise.
Major Sergeant Ahmad Farhan Harat and Sergeant Musaad Dhahi Saleh were laid to rest on Thursday at Sulaibikhat Cemetery, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
In response to the incident, specialized technical teams, including members of the U.S. military, have been formed to conduct a thorough investigation, as reported by KUNA.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed the Kingdom’s heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, as well as to the government and people of Kuwait. The statement also extended wishes for a swift recovery to those injured in the accident.
Saudi Arabia reaffirms its strong ties with Kuwait and stands in support of its leadership and people during this difficult time.
